ECAC ANNOUNCES NORTHEAST ALL-STARS
Fitchburg's DuRoss Named ECAC/CCM Northeast Player of the Year

The Eastern College Athletic Conference has announced its 1999-00 all-Northeast teams, as well as the conference player, rookie, and coach of the year.

Fitchburg's Jeff DuRoss has been selected as the ECAC/CCM Northeast Player of the Year. The Weymouth, MA native helped the Falcons secure the No. 2 seed in the Northeast playoffs as Fitchburg completed their conference schedule with a 10-1-2 mark. The senior forward compiled 37 points in league play, 19 goals and 18 assists, for an average of 2.18 points per game average. DuRoss is also ranked among the top scores in Division III. Through February 27, he was 16th in points per game (1.85) and 15th in goals per game (.85).

Jamie Weiss (Chillwack, BC) of Wentworth has been named the ECAC/CCM Northeast Rookie of the Year. Weiss led all rookie scorers with 14 goals and 16 assists in 17 league contests. His outstanding season helped Wentworth secure a first place finish in the Northeast standings (11-1-1) and home ice throughout the playoffs. Weiss was also named to the All-Northeast Second Team.

Fitchburg's Nick Gangemi (Tewksbury, MA) has been chosen as the ECAC/Heaton Northeast Goaltender of the Year. In 16 league appearances, the senior netminder recorded a 12-2-2 conference mark while registering a .906 save percentage and 2.38 goals against average. Gangemi was ranked 15th among Division III goaltenders for his .720 winning percentage (16-5-4). His strong senior campaign propelled the Falcons to a second place conference finish and the Northeast Championship game.

Salve Regina's Bob Lavin has been selected as the ECAC/Koho Northeast Coach of the Year. Lavin guided the Seahawks to a 6-6-1 league record and a Northeast playoff appearance.
