BOUDROW, CRAPSER HONORED FOR WEEK IN ECAC NORTHEAST HOCKEY

MEDFORD – The Tufts University hockey team won the first annual Coca-Cola Classic at Stonehill College November 25-26. The Jumbos beat host Stonehill, 7-4, in the first round and then slugged Salve Regina, 7-2, in the Championship Game. The efforts of junior center Jason Boudrow (Somerville, MA/Winchendon Prep) and freshman goalie Ben Crapser (Paxton, MA/Northfield Mt. Hermon) during the tournament were rewarded as they won ECAC Northeast Division weekly honors.

Boudrow was named ECAC Northeast Player of the Week after earning tournament MVP honors. He had two goals and four assists in the two games, scoring a goal with two assists in each game. Returning to the team after not playing last season, Boudrow is the catalyst of an offense that has scored seven goals in each of its three games to date.

Crapser, who was selected to the Coca-Cola Classic All-Tournament team, posted a 3.00 goals against average and 90.6 save percentage in the two games. He had 23 saves against Stonehill and 35 against Salve Regina for a total of 58. With last year’s starter Ian Kell studying abroad this year, Crapser has stepped right in and filled the hole for head coach Brian Murphy’s team.

Tufts is 3-0 overall including a 7-2 victory over Suffolk in the season-opener on November 19.
