Finally a summary of the 1st semester - I was only able to get to the first 2 games due to family and travel committments - should be at most of the 2nd semester games.
I'll get right to the point - we went 1-5 in the following order:
Lost the season opener to #1 ranked Norwich 9-4 - they were a veteran team and played no freshman.
Lost the next night to St. Michaels 6-4 - we could have come out of this with a win though not one of those games that we outplayed the winner - St Mike's was very improved and again a veteran team with 9 seniors.
Beat So. NH (the old NH College) 4-2 - played fairly well, got good goaltending and went home for Thankgiving feeling a little better.
Lost to UM Dartmouth 9-8 - this one we should have won - got behind 0-3 very early, made it a one goal game all the way only to lose it in the last minute.
Tough weekend losing to St. Anslem's 7-3 and then dominated by NE College 10-1 - not much to say about these two games.
What we are seeing is a large influx of junior players into the ranks of the non NESCAC teams - this translates to much older opponents and quick changes in teams who may have been a little weaker - this also means we have to get better and I know the recruiting season this year is off to a very good start.
First up the second semester is Williams on Jan 9th at 7:30 and Middlebury the 10th at 3:00, so it does not get any easier for starters.

Raffle tickets will be in the mail the week of Jan 5th - please help if you are on the list to receive them, if you do not receive any you can always ask for some.
We have paid dues from about 95 people which is pretty close to what we usually have at this time of year - if you have not paid please do so - those unpaid on the mailing list will get a reminder mid to late Jan.
Alumni game - is on March 13th with the plan still intact to have 2 games, 13-15 vs part of the varsity and the balance of 30 or so to play a second game, both games 50 min or so - I have a separate list of potential players so you will hear from me separately.
