The final of the semester vs Conn College - good Nescac matchup

First period - starts off at a high pace and maintains that throughout the period - both teams play well, shots are even and two penalties on each team - a great period of up and down hockey

Second period - more of the same before we take the lead on a PP at 4:47 Derosa from Cooper and Walker - a this point we are playing very well and take a 2-0 lead a 6:20 Plimmer from Barker and John - we continue to play well as does Conn but no more scoring in the period - many good chances at both ends but both goalies are up to the task

Third period - the pace is not quite the same but we go up 3-0 off some nifty passing by Diaco, Walker (g) and Korchin - now I am getting nervous - 3-0 leads are not are strongpoint as evidence last Saturday - CC starts to play better and gradually take the play away from us - at 7:06 they make it 3-1 - a few penalties and good chances at both ends are the rule for the next 6 or 7 minutes - matching penalties are handed out at 13:41 and we get a bench minor 2 seconds later, not good timing - at the end of the 3 on 4 CC gets into the scoring column again to make it a one goal game - now I am really nervous - as in the case of 5 of our games a goalie is pulled, CC of course, and we compound it with a penalty at 19:29 causing a 6 on 4 - well the semester ends on an up note as we hold on to win

This was an exciting game, pretty evenly matched teams and a great outcome - we stand at 5-2-1, 3-1-1 in the division ---- things do not get any easier next semester so look for many one goal games and more 6 on 5's at the end of games

Last week Scott Barchard was named the NESCAC player of the week ---- he only had 112 saves (63 vs St. Anselms) - that is a one game modern Tufts record and maybe a Tufts and NESCAC weekend record - for my purposes I will go along with that ----- come to a game next semester, you will enjoy it - saw Jim Monti and Mark Owen at this one
