We met two undefeated teams this weekend - so here goes

Friday night St. Anslems ----- very even period with us taking the lead at 13:32 Tom Resor from Mike Vitale - things remained the same the rest of the period ------- 35 seconds into the second Dylan Cooper puts us ahead 2-0 assisted by Phil Clark and Andy Davis - things continue even up and down the ice until we give up a PP goal to St. A's at 9:27 - we come right back to take a 3-1 lead at 11:21 Lindsay Walker from Clark and Cooper - for the rest of the period they have the better of the play but a good defensive effort and solid goaltending we head into the third period ahead by two - this is another great period, few penalties, constant good play by both teams and no deja vous when we hit the 13 minute mark with the same lead we had last Sunday - this time was to be our time and Matt Amico sealed the win with an empty netter 19:21 - a very nice win, good game to watch and played in 1 hour and 56 minutes - very good crowd also

Saturday afternoon we face off against NE College a top team in the other division - the puck is dropped and 5 minutes later we take a 2-0 lead, Cooper scores from Walker and Myles Neumann at 3:29 followed by Tom Derosa from Resor and Vitale ----- needless to say that gets the attention of NEC and the pace definitely changes - a shorthanded situation leads to a NEC at 13:50 followed quickly by another tally at 15:59 to tie it - it gets hectic for the rest of the period and for the entire second period, we get 5 PP's in that period but cannot capitalize, not a good omen as we go into the third, also too many penalties both ways - this period remains frantic with NEC carrying the play most of the first ten minutes - at 11:41 Jared Melillo puts us ahead with Vitale and Doug Wilson assisting, a huge goal - the tide then shifts a bit so play is chippy but even - we get a break with less than 3 minutes to play, we are called for an obvious trip but the refs in their wisdom called a "dive" on the NEC player, it must have been a good dive since they did not complain violently - we held them off when they pulled the goalie and completed a sweep for the weekend pulling off two upsets
