We played in the PAL Tourney in NH over the weekend - again I was not there but am now safe at home.
First round was against Plymouth and this was a Tufts game all the way - we outshot them 44-18 and
generally played well throughout - we went up 1-0 in the first a PP Evan Story from Tom Derosa and
Matt Amico, Plymouth came back on their own PP to tie it up ----- in the second two more Tufts PP goals
Derosa and Lindsay Walker scoring with assists to Cory Korchin, Doug Wilson and Amico ------- more of
the same in the third with Nick Resor scoring the fourth goal from Mike Vitale and Andy Davis finishing
it off on the PP with Walker getting the assist for the 5-1 final- pretty consistent throughout,
the defense played well as did Scott Barchard in goal.
In the finals we met our league rival UM Boston - we started off well in this one grabbing the lead in
the first period at 12:10 Derosa from Vitale -- 1-0 going into the second, Resor makes it 2-0 at 9:07
from Derosa but UM comes back at 12:23 to make it 2-1 and that holds up well into the third period ----
we then grab a 3-1 lead on the PP Zack Diaco from Korchin and Dylan Cooper ----- we continue to play
well but let UM back into the game with their own PP goal at 12:13 - at 17:11 UM ties it up on a 3 on 2
rush and the momentum has changed - we are about to go into overtime for the tourney title when UM
completes the comeback with the game winner at 19:58 - a tough loss ----- the team did however
rebound nicely after last weeks game at Middlebury - the defense in general - Davis, Mellgren, Ryder,
Pieri, Clark, Wilson and Neumann have steadily improved and hopefully that will pay dividends in the
future.
