Last Tuesday we played Salve Regina while we were away in Guatemala on our humanitarian trip, so the report is from the stat sheet and coach Murphy's comments

1st period - We came out strong, scored early at 4:29 O'Connell from Crosby (first action of the season) and Bailey - Salve tied it up halfway thru the period but we countered with two quick PP goals at 11:32 and 12:40 Milo from Wilson and Gimbel from O'Connell and Milo to take a 3-1 lead into the second ------- we started well with a goal from Dalton with assists to two freshman, Fitoussi and Antonelli - apparently this success went to our collective heads rather quickly as SR scored at 3:45 and again at 14:26 to make it 4-3 going into the third -------- we continued to lack momentum and finally SR tied it up at 12:42 - finally Wilson and Gimbel combined at 19:32 to give the Jumbos the narrow victory

On Friday NE College came to town - we got a quick jump with Murphy scoring at 2:55 from O'Connell and Kalec (yes the goalie) - we then went into our "lets take a few penalties" mode and NEC quickly took advantage of it with PP goals at 9:38 and 16:44 - we were outshot 20-3 so at 2-1 it could have been worse ---------- In the second we played better getting a quick goal at 2:26 Clark from Murphy and McCarthy to tie it up, but once again spent most of the next ten minutes shorthanded (8 penalties so far) - NEC scored an even up goal at 15:06 to make it 3-2 them to start the third ------- play was up and down, good hard hockey, and it seemed the refs were finally "letting them play" so to speak - we had some great chances ( outshot them 18-13 over the last two periods) until at 18:30 or so we get a very marginal call against us, after much more flagrant other action they let go, and they potted one at 18:59 to make it the 4-2 final - a tough loss to a pretty good team

St. Anslems visited us on Saturday, a team we have had a difficult time with in the past - this meeting was to be no different - We played a pretty good first period and got a PP goal at 10:17 Wilson from O'Connell and Cappellano to take the lead and that held up going into the second -------- St A's immediately tied it up on a PP at 0:34 - play continued even and we took the lead at 5:00 Milo from Wilson and Gimbel - once again up and down, both goalies (Kalec) played well finally ST A's tied it up again at 14:27 but we countered with a hard earned goal at 19:11 O'Connell form McCarthy and Murphy -------- both teams came at each other in the third but no scoring in the first ten minutes - then things changed - St A's powered their way to a goal at 10:30 to tie it up - we fought back and got a PP at the 13 minute mark and converted with some great passing at 13:42, O'Connell from Milo and Wilson - St A's came right back to tie it up at 15:10 - at that point we got back on the PP only to have them get a shorthanded goal at 16:34 and that is how it ended, a 5-4 hard to take loss marred at 19:45 by some extra curricular activities which resulted in two players from each team getting game dq's - not the way we wanted to finish this game
