We opened the season Friday night against the current #1 ranked team in the country, Middlebury

The game started off fast and furious and the pace did not let up as the 1st period progressed -we finally broke the ice with a goal from CC Ken Cleary assisted by Matt McCarthy (Sr)and Greg McCarthy (Fr) - Middlebury quickly responded, tying it up - the tempo did not let up for the rest of the period and all the way thru the 2nd period - 1 after two periods with great hockey all the way.

Into the third and the pace continued as did the tie. Middlebury broke the tie with 3+ minutes to go, scored again a minute later, we then scored only to have the refs change their mind (if you want to call it that) - so instead of 3-2 with 2 minutes to go it was 3-1- we pull the goalie , they score an empty netter and that is it --- a great effort on our part leading to a disappointing lost to a very good team - a very good crowd also with a few former players there

Saturday Williams comes to town for a 4:00 game - this game starts at a different pace, Williams had a 7-6 win the night before - we again score first , Joe Milo from Andy Delorey (freshmen), Williams ties it up late in the period

In the second we score in the first minute Ross Gimbel from Greg O'Connell (Sophomores), Williams ties it up 2-2 at 6:19 - we go ahead again at 8:26, Greg McCarthy from O'Connell and McCarthy - midway thru the period Williams ties it up and it stays that way into the third

After starting the period well by killing off a full 3 on 5 we start to unravel - too many penalties and the tanks are starting to run a little low - we start getting outshot and they score an unassisted goal at 7:19 but we continue to keep it a one goal game until another 3 on 5 costs us at 17.26 - another open net score and the final is a 6-3 loss

We need to regroup quickly and get into the win column on Tuesday against So. NH, a team the beat us last year
