We went into the weekend with 16 healthy skaters and that became 15 quickly, losing Tosto early in the Babson game - Babson on Fri was coming off a huge win over Middlebury, their first loss in the league

In the first period Babson controlled play but we scored first at 8:04 Greg McCarthy unassisted - though getting outshot we continued to play well for the rest of the period

In the second period Babson dominated play and tied it up a 9:29 - Issa Azat in goal held Babson at bay time and again and we went ahead at 14:05, Walsh from Kelley (his first career point) - Azat continued to stop Babson for a 2-1 lead after two

The third period is much more even but Babson ties it up at 6:50 and goes ahead at 7:15, two real daggers but we do not pack it in - it goes down to the last 2 minutes and we get a PP only to have the refs make a horrible diving call to put us in a 4on4 - I thought the refs did a good job until the last two minutes, there is something in the rules that says we are not allowed to beat Babson and this goes way back - we pull the goalie and are really pressing when they ice the puck, except the refs seem to forget that they are not shothanded and call for a faceoff in our end after we fortunately tied the puck up - another Babson goal at 19:22 into the open net gives them the 4-2 win - really a great effort by a team really short on personel

Against UMASS Boston on Fri we are down to 14 skaters, with Thompson out - quickly, the game ended in a 2-2 tie - we outshot them 50-27, got a good game from Ninnemann in goal, but could not get it by the UM goalie - Milo and Gimbel scored with assists to Cleary K, O"Connell and Dalton - our defensemen Clark, Kestner, Walsh, Kelley and Cleary S played well and it was the last game for four seniors Pat Walsh, Ken Cleary, Matt Ninnemann and Quinn Kelley plus our other two seniors Matt McCarthy and Jack Thompson who were not in the lineup for this game - all except Quinn are four year players and will create some signifigant holes next year - more about that later Ben
