Fri night Salem St. a team we have battled fairly evenly over the past few years , but not this time - we came out flying in the first and quickly scored at 2:24 Milo (7) from Corbett - our PP took over from there scoring goals at 5:55 and 7:51 to grab a 3-0 lead - scoring on both the PP's was Gimbel (8,9) with assists to Cappellano, O'Connell and Hertzog (2) ------ that score held up for the balance of the period and the second period was more of the same - Korchin scored at 2:28, Milo (8) at 5:38 on a PP and Hertzog (5) added another at 18:28, assists going to Fitoussi, Antonelli, Neumann, O'Connell and Gimbel ----- in the third we cooled off but SS did not get on the board until 16:55 scoring on a PP to ruin the shutout for Mr. Kalec - a last PP tally by Clark (2) with assist to Cappellano and Kirtland made for the 7-1 final ----- shows what a good PP, 4 of 7, and strong goaltending can do for a team ---- Salem came in with the better record but we iced this one early and never let them in the game

On Saturday So. Maine came to town with an impressive record and battling for first place in their division - shows you again how the balance of power can shift dramatically in a year or two - the game started out quickly in our favor with Gimbel(10) scoring again at 1:13. O'Connell the assist to grab a 1-0 lead that lasted only 2 minutes - it was 1-1 for the next ten minutes before SM scored on a PP to go ahead but we tied it up on our PP Milo(9) from Crosby and Clark at 17:39 to make it 2-2 going into the second --- we lost our scoring touch in this period while SM scored twice, both even up to take a 4-2 lead in the third ------ this period was up and down but too many downs to keep us in the game - SM made it 5-2 on a PP, we came back on our PP to make it 5-3 only to have SM make it 6-3 before we scored again at 9:33 to close the gap to 2 goals again but that was as close as we got - two more SM goals made for the 8-4 final - Gimbel scored both goals in this period for the hat trick with assists to O'Connell twice, Cappellano and Hertzog ----- at the end of the week SM ended up in first place and may well win the playoffs - Coach Murphy was very impressed with their top line, all seniors, that have been around for three years without drawing too much attention, but have really led the way this year

This week at Babson a team that has come on stong the second half and the final at UMass Boston on Saturday, 7:00 and 3:00
