Fri nite vs. Hamilton

We enter the game in a three way tie for 6th in the Nescac loop and in the thick of a playoff spot - Hamilton is 3 points ahead in fifth

1st period - both teams come out ready to play and the Jumbos jump on top 1-0 at 4:38 freshman def Zach Smotherman from Hurd and Baker - the play is even all thru the period, shots are 10-9 us, with one penalty to each side

2nd period - we do not play as well and Hamilton ties it up at 5:39 - we continue to struggle but solid defense and good goaltending keeps us in it - sophomore Sean Sullivan puts us up by one at 17:16 assisted by Smotherman and Bickoff and that's how it ends - shots are 6-15 them with 2 penalties to each team

3rd period - freshman Rich Baker stuns the fans with a score at 14 seconds to make it 3-1 Tufts - we follow that up with a PP goal by Captain Mike Carceo, from Sullivan and Byrne at 3:20 - the pace for the period is a fast as any game I have seen us play - we are clearing the zone, keeping the puck in the offensive end and basically playing at the top of our game and frankly Hamilton is also playing well - they make it 4-2 with a goal at 7:30 but we continue to play very well and score a goal at 18:45, freshman Remy Bickoff from Byrne, to put the game away - shots 11-10 and the only penalty on Hamilton - game time the usual 2 hours flat - it is great to see these games, up and down, no delays and generally well officiated

game puck to Matt Ninnemann who again did well in goal though this was a thorough team effort and reflects some good coaching to boot -- try to come to today's game against Amherst, 3:00, currently the standings 5th-8th are as follows:
Hamilton 8-7-1 17 points
Tufts 7-7-2 16 we beat Williams so we are 6th
Williams 7-7-2 16
Amherst 6-7-3 15

get over to the rink and see some great hockey Ben
