Fri night vs U of NE ----- this game started off well with an unassisted goal by Diaco early in the
period - UNE came back to tie it up at 6:38 only to have us go ahead at 7:07 with Diaco's second goal
assisted by Armstrong and Sider ----- from then on in the period we played rather poorly and allowed
two more goals to go into the second period down by one ---- we quickly tied it up, Pappas from Amico
and Sokolski - at the 5 minute mark we get tagged with a with a double penalty, 2 + 5 - we kill about
3 minutes of it but eventually gave up 2 goals that really put us in a hole - we then got a 5 on 3
but could not capitalize - we finally woke up and started to play good hockey and closing the gap to
one at 15:46, Pappas again from Amico and Story - going into the third we continued to play very
aggressive hockey and it paid off early with a tally at 0:59 Davis from Pieri and Derosa - another
goal at 4:28 put us up 6-5, this one Vitale from Derosa and Plimmer ----- no more scoring, we played
very well the rest of the way - Phillips in goal shut them out the last 30 minutes and the effort
was there all the way
On Saturday So. Maine got a jump on us in the first period which they never relinquished - 1-0 after
one period, 3-0 after two periods - we scored at the beginning of the third period, Pieri from Derosa
and Plimmer, but that was as close as we got the final was 5-1 ---- we played much better than the
score indicated, got outshot a bit , and worked hard the entire game --- with some key injuries some
of the younger players are getting plenty of ice time
Off to Vermont this weekend for the final two regular season games at St. Michaels on Friday and
Norwich on Saturday
