Another big weekend for us - Wesleyan on Friday, a team we are trying to beat out for a playoff spot - the first period starts out well for us with a shorthanded goal at 2:30 Walker from John - we continue to play well and take a 2-0 lead at 8:38, Cooper from Derosa and Plimmer - we stretch the lead to 3-0 on a PP at 12:49, Cooper again from PLimmer and Walker - all three goals came after some nice passing and finishing something we have been missing of late -------- Wesleyan tries to get back into the game at 3:29 of the second period and the play starts to even out with chances at both end - we regain the 3 goal lead at 17:25 on the PP, Derosa from Davis and John and take that lead into the 3rd ----- we seem to put the game on ice at 0:55 when Diaco grabs a loose puck near the crease and squeezes it home - if you can believe this now the fun really gets outrageous - Wesleyan pulls their goalie with 15:10 left in the period, I do not think you have seen that too often - to sum up the bizaare scoring from here on in is a study in futility - now it is - we start off up by 4 - in order we score an empty netter, they score a 6 on 5, we score two more emptynetters (it is now 8-2), they score a 6 on 5 followed by 2 scores on a game ending 6 on 4 PP after our usual major penalty in the last 5 minutes of a game - final 8-5 ---- lost in the shuffle was a hat trick by Diaco, the goal above and two empty nets (that needs an asterisk), one by Plimmer and assists to Vitale (2), Derosa and Cooper --- I would prefer not to go through that again, it is painful to watch

Trinity came in last night raring to go - they really dominated in the first period and ran up a 2-0 lead - in the second they made it 3-0 and had continued to outplay us - we got a break on a d zone turnover with Diaco scoring from Davis and Barker - this seemed to perk us up and we played better but Trinity was on their A game and shut us down for the rest of the period - in the third we played well but could not crack the scoring column - we pulled the goalie with a little over 4 minutes to play, had some good chances but finally they lofted the puck from the defensive face off circle all the way down the ice and into the net to seal the win --- Trinity is a very good team and will be heard front in the playoffs I am sure

Off to Maine on the weekend, Friday night at UNE and Saturday at on to So. Maine --------- we need to keep on getting points every weekend in order to grab a playoff spot - nothing is sure at this point as you can see by the standings
