Started the weekend in Maine against So. Maine (8-9) at their newish, very decent facility

1st period - we got off to a great start Murphy scoring from McCarthy and Schatz 2 minutes in - Van Pelt made it 2-0 at the 14 min mark from Bailey - a few penalties over the next 4 minutes and SM finally got on the board with 4 min to go in the period
2nd period - for the first 12 min we play pretty poorly and finally SM ties it up with 8 min to go - we come right back Rotondi puttng in a nice pass from Delaney Winn - a few more penalties and it ends 3-2 after 2
3rd period - 5 min of good hockey followed by pp, 5on3, pp, sh, 3on5,sh, not what we had in mind at the critical time in the game - SM takes advantage and ties it up with 4 min remaining - no suspense here nobody really threatened for the rest of the period and overtime so it ends 3-3 - -- could of had a win but a tie up there and being outshot about 40 to 25 gave us some satisfaction
The Murphy, McCarthy, Schatz line and the Cleary, Delaney, Rotondi line led the way - I thought Walsh played well on D and Matt Ninneman was really good in goal

Sat afternoon at Salem State (10-6-2) a team we lost to last year 8-7 and the year before some big number to 2
1st period - evenly played game and we break on top on a great pass from Murphy to Rotondi half way thru the period (Walsh also assisted) - alot of penalties later we make it 2-0 on a PP Van Pelt from Delaney Winn
2nd period - evenly played for over half the period then SS closes the gap to 2-1 with 12 to play - Byrne, Sullivan and Hurd came out of their slump to make it 3-1 and again combined for the first goal of the third to up 4-1 - Sullivan from Thompson makes it 5-1 with 10 min to go - Sullivan makes a quick trip to the penalty box and 10 seconds later it is 5-2 and one minute later it is 5-3 - we are on our heels for a bit but rebound pretty well and play is even right up to then end when Schatz ices it with a VG hustle goal ---- so a 6-3 upset win, we deserved it - Crapser in goal played very well - the defense as a group were much better and Sullivan's line definitely put us in a position to win --- we played our best hockey of the year this weekend - it doesn't get any easier with UM Boston and Babson home this weekend then off to Amherst and Hamilton on the 13th and 14th, everyones favorite trip - off to the Super Bowl
