Three games to report starting with 2nd place Williams on Friday - you will note the absence of some familiar names, all due
to injuries, actually dressed only 17 last night plus the goalies - anyway we started the weekend scoring first at 8:15
Edwards from Granato only to see them tie it up 59 seconds later - a well period at both ends of the ice ---- in the second
we fell behind early but play continued to be even with us finally evening it up at 15:44 Schartz from Campbell and
Pantazopoulos - we apparently forgot that play would resume right away and 9 seconds later Williams went ahead again to make
it 3-2 going into the third --- less trhan 2 minutes later it was 4-2 but we were not done - at 12:24 we made it a one goal
game Bell from White and Carson but for the third time in the game we allowed a follow up goal in less than a minute, 31
seconds to be exact, at that is how it ended --- in spite of being shorthanded we play very well, shots were about even,
and we in some respects deserved a better fate - a tough loss
It did not get easier on Saturday vs Middlebury a team we usually play well against down here - once again we opened the
scoring at 10:24 Bell from White and Plimmer - that held up until the last 18 seconds when we turned the puck over on the
PP and allowed a SH goal - in the second Middlebury scored at 2:59 to make it 4-1 - at 7:49 Bell stole the puck for an
unassisted goal on the PP only to have Middlebury up the lead to three at 12:26 - this held up until late in the third
period when Middlebury took a 5 minute major with about 4:30 to go - we quickly made it a 5-3 Plimmer from White and Bell -
we controlled play and scored again at 17:02 Plimmer from Power and White to make it 5-4 but we could not get the tying goal
-another tough loss to a very good team - again shots were nearly even and we obviously battled to the last whistle
Last night we played Suffolk, an old rival, in one of the States old barns in Boston - we fell behind 1-0 after after one
period and then found ourselves down 2-0 halfway thru the second period before we got a wakeup call with a PP at 11:50
White from Plimmer and Edwards to close out the period down by 2-1 - in the third (we are now down to 15 skaters)
Pantazopoulos take over and scores twice at 11:40 and 13:06, from Granato and Carson on the first one and unassisted
on the second one ---- this held up with an open net goal, Bell from Edwards, at 19:35 for the 4-2 final - a lot of hockey
in the last 5 days for a short bench
