Two NESCAC rivals in town for the weekend

Hamilton Friday night - we did not play well the first part of the period and it caught up with us when shorthanded at 8:19 - play stayed fairly even but we did not really have it in gear - Hamilton went up 2-0 at 19:08 and carried that into the second -- we started off a little better and finally got on the board at 5:08, Joe Cappellano his first with assists to Mike Fitoussi and Evan Crosby - it remained this way all through the period and halfway into the third - suddenly we started making plays - at 10:10 Fitoussi gets his first college goal with the assist to Myles Neumann - at 12:28 on the PP Ross Gimbel (7) finishes off a nice play by Kurt Hertzog and Greg McCarthy for the 3-2 lead to be quickly 4-2 when Crosby (4) scores from Cory Korchin - we score again off a nice 2 on 1, Joe Milo (5) from Joe Rosano and Brian Bailey - a great finish for us for the 5-2 final - our second 5 goal comeback in 7 days

Amherst on Saturday posed a tougher problem coming in as the #1 team in the league - they looked it for two periods - we worked very hard, played pretty well but Amherst was a little better - a first period score, a PP goal early in the second period and another goal mid way through the second gave them a 3-0 lead going into the third -- coach made a few adjustments and we came out strong in the third finally getting a goal at 6:38 Bailey (3) form Rosano and Matt Dalton - we continued to press, got two breakaways but could not score - Coach pulled the goalie early, Amherst scored, we put the goalie back in and we score Hertzog (4) from Jon Kestner and McCarthy with about 1 1/2 remaining - out comes the goalie again and Amherst wraps it up with another open net goal for the 5-2 final - obviously the game was closer than the score indicates - overall shots were even at 31 each, we played a very good third period and with a few breaks could have beaten the #1 team - gives you an idea about the balance in the league

Couple of big games in Ct. next week for you fans down there - Wesleyan Fri night at 7 and Trinity at their new rink Saturday at 3

I sent out a note about the Alumni game and have quite a few responses, 3/10 - let me know
