This past weekend we hosted Trinity and Wesleyan - in the playoff race Bowdoin, Middlebury, Williams and Amherst are leading the pack while the rest of us are battling for the other playoff spots and we are right in the thick of it

Saturday night we battled a very much improved Trinity team from the outfit we faced earlier this year - it was a tough physical game - Trinity scored first at 11:03 and that was it for the first period - in the second Trinity made it 2-0 very early at 1:18 but we got a shorthanded goal at 3:12, Matt Amico from Derrek Schatz to cut the lead to one ----- it stayed this way into the third period as play evened out a bit - at 13.49 Trinity scored again for a commanding 3-1 lead - that was the final but only after we hit a cross bar, had a goal disallowed at 18:01 (the correct call) - it was a good game, we played well, but Trinity play a little better

On Sunday Wesleyan came to town off a 3-3 tie at Conn - they led us by 1 point in the standings at the onset - this game was a little different, chippier, but two fairly equal teams ------ at 11:23 or the first Tyler Voigt scores on the PP from Plimmer and Gallegos - Wesleyan responds immediately at 12:27 to tie it up and at 19:33 Voigt pots another goal from Plimmer to make it 2-1 going into the second ------ play again is up and down and testy - Matt Amico on the PP from Gallegos and Barchard makes it 3-1 at 10:27 ----- not to be outdone Wesleyan cuts the lead to one at 14:03 and it remains that waywell into the third period ------ at 8:22 Wesleyan ties it up on a PP then goes ahead 13 seconds later and things are not looking good for the Jumbos ------ play is very intense at this point but we come off some good forechecking and tie it up at 16:39 Dylan Plimmer from Edwards and Voigt - for the rest of the period scoring chances are minimal and into overtime we go, a very important overtime for both teams ------ again play is up and down, no great chances for either team, but with 18 seconds left Voigt completes the hat trick (from Plimmer) and we get a huge win ------- a great game to watch

Congrats to Voigt and Plimmer each having a 4 point game, almost unheard of in these NESCAC contests

Two biggies (they are all biggies) coming up this weekend at Williams Friday 7:00 and Middlebury Saturday 4:00
