Started the weekend at Amherst one of the top three in the division - in the first period there was scoring aplenty,
very unusual for Amherst - they scored first at 4:05, we tied it up on a PP at 5:21 Voigt from Plimmer, In short order
Amherst scored again at 6:35, we tied again at 9:15 White from Bell and Power and Amherst took the lead again at 15:23
------ pretty good period but it did not last long in the second with Amherst getting two quick goals early and another
at 19:26 to make it a 6-2 game and that is how it ended - a tough start against a very good team
On to Hamilton the next day after arriving at 1:00 am - this was a tight game all the way - in the first Hamilton scored
the only goal 17:21 and that held up until 15:25 of the second when we tied it up on the PP Bell from Metcalf and Armstrong
- play continued up and down, we had the worst of it penalty wise but again did not give up PP goals - late in the third
Hamilton finally broke the tie at 15:59 and iced it with an open net goal at 19:26 ---- a much better effort on our part,
Phillips played well in goal but a tough loss
On Tuesday we played Wentworth, a very good team from the Northeast group, who had a win over Middlebury on their resume -
here again we played better in spite of having 5 or 6 regulars on the sideline ---- midway through the first period Tim
Mitropoulos started the scoring with an unassisted goal to give us a at that carried us well into the second period -
finally we grabbed a 2 goal lead Plimmer from Bell and Edwards and that lead held up until the 60 minute mark - we played
better as a team, Phillips again played well earning the shutout and very few penalties in the game - we do better that
way
On to Trinity and Wesleyan this weekend, after that a little home cooking for a change
