This will be brief since I was not in attendance

St Mike's Friday night - good game with two evenly matched teams - SM scored the only goal of the first period to lead after one - We scored the only goal of the second period at 16:53, Milo from McCarthy, to tie it up and that is how it went right thru the third - the OT was short but not sweet, SM scoring 20 seconds into play to grab the 2-1 victory - a tough loss for the Jumbos

On to Norwich for the Sat matinee event - Norwich jumped out to a two goal lead midway thru the first period with a PP goal at 9:06 and an even up goal at 10:45 - the Jumbos came back with a PP at 15:28, McCarthy from Wilson and Gimbel, to get us back in the ballgame only to see Norwich get another PP goal in the final minute of the period - we played pretty well in the second period and cut the deficit in half with our second PP goal, Wilson from O'Connell and Milo - Norwich up the lead to two again with a goal at 15:23 ---- the final period was scoreless until we pulled our goalie, Kalec who did a great job all weekend, only to lead to an open net goal against for the 5-2 final

This weekend the team is off to VT and NY for games against Castleton and Skidmore who are both ranked in the top 13 in the country - Oh how times have changed - the level of hockey from top to bottom has raised considerably with the recruiting from the junior ranks the major factor - the average team age is probably 12 - 18 months older than it was 10-12 years ago - not a fact but my guess - getting a player directly from high school is very rare and while most prep players are a year older and many junior players are two years older and that is starting to be reflected in our roster
